The Instagram Strategy That Helped Me Book My First 10 Clients

The Instagram Strategy That Helped Me Book My First 10 Clients

Hey friend👋

Let’s rewind to when I was just starting out. No followers. No bookings. No idea what I was doing other than making really cute picnic setups and hoping someone—anyone—would find me on Instagram and hire me.

Spoiler alert: That didn’t happen right away.

But once I changed my strategy and stopped posting “just to post,” everything shifted. I booked my first 10 clients organically, using Instagram alone—and today I’m breaking down exactly how I did it so you can too.

Whether you’re just starting your luxury picnic business or you’re stuck in that “post-and-pray” phase, this post is for you 💛

💡 First, Let’s Talk About Why Instagram Alone Wasn’t Working

I was doing what I thought I was supposed to do:

  • Posting my setups

  • Using hashtags

  • Sharing inspo quotes

  • Uploading Reels here and there

But I wasn’t getting bookings. Not even DMs.

And that’s when I realized something big:
I was creating content for engagement—not for conversions.

Once I shifted from just “being active” to creating content with purpose, I finally started attracting the right people—and booking them.

💡 Enter: The ASB Method™ (My 3-Phase Strategy That Changed Everything)

This is the exact system I used (and now teach!) to grow a fully booked picnic business. It’s called:

Attract. Serve. Book. Repeat.

Let’s break it down:

PHASE 1: ATTRACT

This is where it all starts. If you’re not attracting the right people, they’ll never become paying clients.

Here’s what I did:

✅ I posted Reels that actually showed my personality and process
✅ I added location-based keywords to every post (yes, even in captions!)
✅ I used behind-the-scenes content that made people feel like they knew me
✅ I stopped trying to be perfect and started showing up as a real human

Attract Content That Worked for Me:

  • “A day in the life of a picnic planner”

  • Reels with trending audio showing setup-to-finish transformations

  • BTS packing prep with casual text overlays like “Prepping for this weekend’s backyard date night setup 😍”

📌 Pro Tip: People book people—not perfection.
Let them fall in love with you just as much as your work.

PHASE 2: SERVE

Once you’ve caught their attention, you need to earn their trust.

Think of this phase as relationship-building. People need to believe that you know what you’re doing before they hand over their money.

What I Posted to Serve:

✅ Educational carousels like “3 Things to Look for in a Picnic Planner”
✅ FAQ Fridays (literally just me answering a question I got that week!)
✅ Mini tutorials: “How I build our signature boho tablescape in under 10 minutes”
✅ Testimonials, reviews, and user-generated content from happy clients

📌 Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself. People aren’t reading everything—they’re skimming. Consistency builds authority.

And if you’re afraid to “give too much away”—don’t be. I always say:

👉 Educate to elevate. You’re showing that you’re the expert—not giving away the recipe.

PHASE 3: BOOK

This is where the magic happens—but it’s the most overlooked part. You must tell people how to book with you. Don’t assume they’ll “figure it out.”

Here’s what I changed:

✅ I started ending every caption with a clear CTA: “DM me PICNIC for my booking link!”
✅ I posted a “Now Booking [Month]” post every other week
✅ I made a highlight bubble titled “How to Book”
✅ I added urgency: “Only 2 Saturdays left in [Month]!”

Book-Worthy Content Examples:

  • “Now booking for spring proposals! Only 3 weekends left. Click the link in bio to lock in your date.”

  • “Here’s how to book your dream picnic in 3 steps →” (Carousel style)

  • “Want to host a picnic party but don’t know where to start? I got you. DM me the word ‘HELP’ and I’ll send you booking info.”

📌 Pro Tip: Your content should make booking feel EASY. Remove all friction. Make it click → DM → book.

👏 So, How Did I Book My First 10 Clients?

Let’s summarize it in one sentence:

✨ I stopped hoping people would “get it,” and started guiding them through a journey.

  1. I used Attract content to stop the scroll and connect with my dream clients

  2. I used Serve content to build trust and showcase the value of what I offer

  3. I used Book content to make it ridiculously easy to take the next step

Rinse and repeat. That’s it.
